Native of St. Petersburg detained on suspicion of murdering two Russians in Munich

German police are still searching for the bodies of the 41-year-old woman and her 16-year-old daughter in the forests of Bavaria.

On July 26, German police detained Roman Shishchenko, a St. Petersburg resident, in the Bavarian capital Munich on suspicion of killing his wife and stepdaughter. According to Bild, the man is currently in a pre-trial detention facility.

The police believe the 41-year-old woman and her 16-year-old daughter are already dead. The police are scouring the region’s forest belt.

44-year-old Shishchenko was detained in his own apartment. According to a version, on July 13 at lunch time, both women went to a store and never came back. On the same day, the current husband and ex-husband of Maria Gertsuski reported them missing.

Shishchenko emigrated to Germany in the 2000s. The marriage with Maria Gertsuski is his second one. He also has a little daughter who lives with her mother in Augsburg.

Shischenko has no criminal past.
