Earlier, Novaya Gazeta published an investigation in which it claimed that fighters of the Wagner PMC were involved in the execution of a man. The publication called the name of one of them - Stanislav D., a former policeman from the Stavropol Territory.
Fontanka claims that they managed to establish the identity of another mercenary. His name is Ruslan, 39, a former military man from Bryansk, he participated in military operations on the territory of Chechnya. Fontanka also writes that he was recognized in a group photograph taken in Syria by "a wide circle of acquaintances from Bryansk." The passport of this person also appeared at the disposal of the publication; the publication claims that in 2017, he checked in for a charter flight to Syria.
Now, the man is engaged in patriotic education of youth - the publication found photos of Ruslan in Cossack uniform taking part in the events for children. He calls himself a volunteer in the Governor's Palace of Children and Youth Creativity named after Gagarin; he also claims that he is engaged in school competitions.
Fontanka contacted Ruslan. He said that he has never been to Syria and has nothing to do with Wagner PMC. In a conversation with a correspondent, he promised to give the last three digits of his passport in order to refute their data, but did not keep his word and, judging by the screenshots, stopped responding.
