Kyiv refuses to participate in PACE session

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine does not intend to send a delegation to the upcoming session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine does not intend to send a delegation to the upcoming session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

According to Chairman of the Rada’s committee on foreign policy, Bohdan Yaremenko, such a decision was made because “PACE violates its own principles and ignores Ukraine’s interests.”

According to Eremenko, Ukrainian deputies are working on a plan to “restore confidence in PACE,” Interfax reports.

On Friday, the delegation of the Verkhovna Rada in PACE elected its leader and his deputies.

The previous Rada delegation left the PACE spring session because of disagreement with the decision of the European Parliament to restore the rights of the Russian delegation.
