A Florida woman claims that an alligator killed and ate her pit-bull.

Cynthia Robinson told police that a huge alligator attacked her pit-bull, Tank, when they were out on a walk. She said that she sat on a bench and took Tank off the leash to give him some freedom to run around when the gator jumped the dog.

'He was so fast. He took my dog, and he was gone. Tank didn’t even stand a chance,' she told Spectrum News.

According to Robinson the alligator was around 10 feet long. The scaly predator resufaced after dragging the pit-bull back into the water and “just like sat there with my dog in his mouth,' Robinson recalled in an interview with the station WFLA.

Officials have closed off the site of the incident, while a professional trapper contracted by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission began the search for the gator.
