Greece: two Russians dead in helicopter crash
The leased helicopter crashed into the wires of power lines.
A Russian woman with a child died in the crash of a rented helicopter near the island of Poros. The pilot, a citizen of Greece, also died. The helicopter crashed into the wires of power lines, caught fire, exploded and fell into the water near the shore, TASS reports.
The Russian embassy in Greece confirmed the deaths of two Russians and expressed condolences to the families and friends of the victims. Divers have already raised the victims’ bodies from the water.
The crashed helicopter Agusta A-109 belonged to a local entrepreneur and was hired by the Russian woman in the city of Galatas to fly to the international to the Eleftherios Venizelos Airport in Athens.
