German scientists discover 11 types of plastic in children’s organisms
In 97% of the analyses, microscopic plastic remains were found.
Scientists from Germany examined the analyses of 2500 children aged 3 to 17 years to identify the presence of traces of plastic in their bodies. In 97% of the analyses, microscopic plastic remains were found. The study was conducted at the Robert Koch Institute with the support of the Federal Ministry for the Environment.
Scientists believe that plastic enters the body of children with water from plastic bottles, as well as food in plastic containers.
