Drunk Russian woman crosses Finnish border on inflatable boat

The violator failed to get far; the border guards detained her.

Drunk Russian woman on an inflatable boat crossed the border with Finland on Lake Pyhäjärvi, Fontanka reports. The incident happened on Monday morning, July 1. The woman successfully made her way to the territory of the neighboring state. However, she was noticed by residents, who reported this to the border service of Suomi.

The border guards who arrived at the scene demanded documents, but she was severely drunk. As a result, the traveler was accused of illegally crossing the state border and drinking alcohol on the water. The Finns have already informed the Russian colleagues about the incident. The violator will be expelled back soon.

It is worth noting that Lake Pyhäjärvi is often used to cross the Russian-Finnish border illegally. Last winter, two men drove into Finland from Russia. In turn, in the summer of 2017, the French kayakers, who were discovered by border guards, almost sailed to Russia.
