Irish Conor McGregor, former champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), may go to jail for assaulting an elderly man in a Dublin pub. Now the mixed martial artist faces imprisonment of up to six months.
In April, a mixed-style fighter decided to have a tasting of his signature whiskey in one of Dublin's pubs, treating all visitors to the establishment. But not all visitors wanted to taste the drink. One elderly man refused the treat, after which McGregor struck him in the face. The fighter was soon kicked out of the bar.
Unfortunately for the Irishman, the incident was captured on camera, and after a while, the video appeared online. McGregor apologized for the attack, but this did not stop the police, who initiated an investigation.
Now, in addition to imprisonment, the fighter will have to pay a fine of one and a half thousand euros. The trial will take place on October 11 in Dublin.
