Catalan politicians get up to 13 years in jail after holding referendum

As it is reported, former vice-president of Catalonia Oriol Junqueras received a maximum term of 13 years for rebellion and embezzlement.

The Supreme Court of Spain has sentenced Catalan politicians involved in organizing an independence referendum to imprisonment of 9 to 13 years, El Pais reports. 

As it is reported, former vice-president of Catalonia Oriol Junqueras received a maximum term of 13 years for rebellion and embezzlement.

The trial began on October 16, 2017 after the leaders the Catalan separatist movement Omnium Culture, Jordi Sanchez and Jordi Cuixart, were imprisoned.
