Canadian teenager accidentally solves woman disappearance case after 27 years
The kid found the missing woman’s car in a lake.
A teenage boy found a car that had belonged to a woman who had disappeared 27 years ago in the Canadian city of Revelstoke, according to CBC News.
The publication reported that the 13-year-old and his mother were sailing a boat in a lake when the kid saw a car underwater.
The police arrived at the scene but the bright sun made it impossible to see the vehicle underwater. Then the teenager plunged to the bottom of the lake with a GoPro and took footage of the car.
Three days later, the police and evacuation service pulled the black Honda Accord out with the corpse of the 70-year-old woman who had gone missing in the fall of 1992. According to the son of the deceased, the family had assumed that the woman could have gotten off the road as a result of an accident or fall asleep.
