35 people injured as Madrid flight hits severe turbulence
Airbus A330-343, flying to Madrid, hit a violent patch of turbulence and sharply lost altitude.
35 people were injured and in need of medical attention after their plane suddenly lost altitude after hitting a severe turbulent zone, according to El Mundo newspaper.
Airbus A330-343 was flying from Port Louis to Madrid on Tuesday. The plane quickly lost around 300 meters, but the pilots managed to pull it out of the dive and save the aircraft from a potentially deadly end of the journey.
35 passengers were injured during the incident and received medical attention upon landing in Madrid. Ten were hospitalized, the newspaper reports.
"We have been born again. I thought that the plane would crash," one of the passengers said, as quoted by El Mundo.
