Younger son of murdered wife of hockey player Sokolov stood behind his father during farewell ceremony
The farewell ceremony was held in a small chapel in a St. Petersburg cemetery.
Ren TV channel published a video from the funeral of the wife of Russian hockey player Maxim Sokolov. The farewell ceremony was held in a small chapel in one of the cemeteries of St. Petersburg.
The footage shows Maxim Sokolov barely restraining tears. The man stands close to the tomb and holds a candle in his hands. His 15-year-old son, who is suspected in the murder, stands behind his father without a candle and looks very nervous.
The tragedy in the Sokolov family happened on June 13. According to the investigation, 15-year-old Arseny attacked his mother Irina and his 18-year-old brother Maxim with a knife. The woman died on the spot, the young man was hospitalized in serious condition. Arseny claims that it was Maxim who committed the attack first, and he managed to escape to seek the help of neighbors. When he returned, he saw his mother dead and stabbed his brother several times with a knife. A close friend of the murdered woman stated that her sons could hardly have attacked Irina, she believes that her husband could have done it more likely.
Presumably, it concerns the US response to Ukraine’s help in the investigation against Joseph Biden, Trump’s main rival in the 2020 presidential election, who allegedly was in collusion with Kiev during the previous campaign.
