Young Moscow resident driving BMW around Muzeon park is to face 15 days of detention
Administrative proceedings have been initiated against a 20-year-old Moscovite who had been cruising around the pedestrian area in Muzeon park.
According to the official MIA representative Irina Volk, proceedings under the following articles have been initiated against the young man: part 1 of Art. 12.15 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offences (Violating the rules for locating a transport vehicle on the road, for passing each other when driving in opposite directions, as well as driving along waysides or crossing of an organized motor convoy or a column of people walking on foot or taking a place in it) and part 2 of Art. 12.15 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offences (Driving along cycling tracks and paths, or along pavements in violation of the Traffic Regulations). In addition, the law enforcement officers have filed an administrative report under part 2 of Art. 12.7 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offences (Driving a transport vehicle by a driver who is deprived of the right to drive a transport vehicle) against the offender.
Irina Volk added, that the Moscow resident was also held liable under Art. 12.29 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offences (Violation by a pedestrian or by a passenger of a transport vehicle of the Traffic Regulations). Father of the young offender has not gone unpunished; the police have instigated an administrative investigation against him for providing a vehicle to his son without a driving license (under part 3 of Art. 12.7 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offences).
All administrative reports, filed as part of this case, will soon be referred to the court. "It should be noted that the law provides a liability of up to fifteen days of administrative arrest for the listed offenses," Irina Volk noted.
Earlier, the Moscow policemen detained a 20-year-old BMW driver, cruising around the pedestrian area at Muzeon park. The video with the crime committed had been posted in Instagram in the account @outlaw.777. The video shows a BMW car driving around the park's pedestrian area. It was captioned “When you want to take a walk in a park but don’t feel like leaving your car”.
The law enforcers found that the young man had been previously deprived of his driving license for traffic violations. The offender's father who is also the owner of the car said that his son had been driving the car for about 3 years.
