Yekaterinburg policemen suspected of raping detainee woman
A source claims that the woman was a sex worker.
Two police officers in Yekaterinburg - Vyacheslav Tropin and Vadim Mustafin, have been detained in a rape case, Znak.com reports citing sources in law enforcement agencies. The case was initiated under item (a), part 2 of Art. 131 of the Criminal Code (rape committed by a group of persons) and item (a), part 2 of Art. 132 of the Criminal Code (other sexual crimes). The investigators believe that they abused a 22-year-old Kazakhstan citizen, whom they had detained as she was leaving a sauna. The source of the publication claims that she was a sex worker.
She pressed charges. Tropin and Mustafin were detained by their colleagues from the Department of Internal Investigations of the Central Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sverdlovsk Region. Mustafin was placed under house arrest; the second police officer is going to be sentenced soon.
