Yekaterinburg: driver deliberately knocks down family with child on sidewalk
The video of the accident shows that the car drove 300 meters along the pedestrian zone at high speed, knocking down the passersby.
The ICR initiated a murder attempt (part 3 of Article 30, Article 105 CCRF) after the accident in Yekaterinburg, where a Honda knocked down two adults and a child on the sidewalk, the press service of the ICR’s Directorate for the Sverdlovsk Region reported.
On the morning of November 14, the perpetrator drove onto the sidewalk on the Fromanova Street and was going along it at a speed of about 215 kilometers per hour, knocking down a man and a woman with a carriage. According to the investigators, his actions were deliberate. They were not caused by the traffic situation, technical malfunction or the driver’s insufficient qualifications – he had significant experience in driving. According to the source of the publication E1.ru, the driver’s experience is about 30 years.
The driver himself claims to have mixed up the gas and brake pedals. The video shows that the car is moving at great speed on the sidewalk for some time. The car stopped only after a collision with a pole. The pedestrians were seriously injured, the driver himself was almost not injured.
