The world champion in hand-to-hand fighting shot National Guard Lieutenant at the Best night club in Makhachkala and injured another person, Interfax reported, citing a law enforcement source.
The incident occurred on the night of November 18th. It is reported that the shooting began during a conflict between drunk young people, which grew into a brawl. As a result, one of the participants of the fight pulled a gun and shot two of their offenders.
National Guard Lieutenant died on the spot. The second victim was urgently taken to the Republican Orthopedic and Trauma Center. The wounded man is in serious condition in intensive care. He is conscious and is being interrogated by investigators. A criminal case was initiated on the fact of the incident.
According to Interfax, the shooter is the world champion in hand-to-hand combat. His name has not been officially disclosed yet, but the REN TV channel reports that the shooter’s name is Khazkil Yakubov.
According to the Telegram channel Mash, an athlete who opened fire at the club is Shakhban Machiev, a world champion in sambo in 2006, five-time champion of the republic in sanshou and two-time champion of the CIS in hand-to-hand combat.
At the same time, Mash notes that the shooter himself was wounded by the return fire of the National Guard and hospitalized. REN TV reports that the assailant had disappeared in a Lexus car. His identity is established, the security forces carry out operational-search activities.
