Weapons cache discovered in MIA Internal Security Department in Moscow
A criminal case has been initiated.
Workers discovered a weapons cache in the wall of one of the offices when repairing the General Administration of Internal Security building. This is reported by RBC referring to a source in the MIA Main Directorate in Moscow.
According to the news agency’s source, the incident took place in late February. A plastic bag with objects similar to 9 mm caliber cartridges (28 in total), a metal cylinder with a wick, a plastic cylinder and a brown crystalline substance, as well as a hand smoke grenade were found hidden in the wall.
The finds were sent to the forensic center, where experts came to the conclusion that the cartridges found in the wall came from a Makarov pistol; they are suitable for shooting.
According to sources, a criminal case under part 1 of Art. 222 of the Russian Criminal Code (Illegal Acquisition, Transfer, Sale, Storage, Transportation, or Bearing of Firearms, Its Basic Parts, Ammunition, Explosives, and Explosive Devices) has been initiated. The owners of the cache are being identified.
