Wealthy masked man throws 1000-ruble bills on St. Petersburg streets
Passers-by were quick to pick up the money.
An unidentified man wearing a mask threw 1.000-ruble bills (1.000 rubles equal $15) from a car window in St. Petersburg. A video of this was uploaded to the popular Instagram page called Rich Russian Kids.
“I’ve been thinking, and money is such a meaningless thing, you know. It’s just paper. And you’re wasting your lives for bigger figures in your account. I have 50 thousand rubles ($756) in my hands. It’s the average monthly salary in St. Petersburg, by the way. And you sweat for this! I feel sorry for you,” the man says and throws the banknotes out of the car window. Passers-by were quick to pick up the money.

Who has initiated the sweeping purge of the watchdog authority? And what high-profile corruption cases are forthcoming?
