Video of historian Sokolov throwing student’s remains into river made public
The assistant professor is seen waiting until a person passes by, and then throwing the bag into the water.
The media published recordings from CCTV cameras where Oleg Sokolov, an associate professor of St. Petersburg State University, is seen throwing a bag into the Moika. Investigators believe that the remains of the post-graduate student Anastasia Yeshchenko are in that bag.
The clip shows a man coming up to the river with a bag in his hands. He is seen waiting until a person passes by, and then throwing the bag into the water. After some time, Sokolov returns with two more bags, which he also dumps into the river.
A man was taken out of the Moika River, St. Petersburg on November 9, and severed arms were found in his backpack. Suspect Oleg Sokolov turned out to be a historian, assistant professor of St. Petersburg State University. A search in the professor’s apartment uncovered the corrupted corpse of his 24-year-old graduate. Currently, Sokolov is in custody; he confessed.
