Venediktov publishes decision on Golunov's case termination
The Head of the investigation team signs the decree.
The Ekho Moskvy editor-in-chief, Alexey Venediktov, published a decision on termination of the criminal case against Meduza special correspondent Ivan Golunov in his Telegram channel.
The document states that the persecution of the journalist was terminated due to his non-involvement in the crime committed based on part 1 of Article 27 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation. The resolution was signed by the Head of the investigative group, O. A. Gubina.
Recall, Ivan Golunov was arrested on June 6 within case over the sale of drugs. On June 11, all charges against him were dropped by the decision of Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev. Lawyers promised to seek a fair trial of the perpetrators.
Presumably, it concerns the US response to Ukraine’s help in the investigation against Joseph Biden, Trump’s main rival in the 2020 presidential election, who allegedly was in collusion with Kiev during the previous campaign.
