Uralvagonzavod top manager falls off a cliff
The Executive Director of the research and production corporation hit his head, suffering numerous lacerations.
Uralvagonzavod Top Manager Vladimir Roshchupkin received a head injury during a holiday. The hike along the river Chusovaya ended in hospitalization. It is reported that at some point, a group of tourists decided to make a camp; that is when Roshchupkin stumbled and fell from the cliff.
He was taken to one of the hospitals in Yekaterinburg. The gravity of the top manager’s injuries is not reported, however, it is known that he suffered lacerations to the head.
According to the research and production corporation’s website, Roshchupkin began his career in Uralvagonzavod more than 30 years ago, getting a job as a works foreman. In 2010, he was appointed executive director of the plant. In 2016, President Putin awarded the top manager the Order of Merit for the Fatherland IV. His achievements include “a great contribution to the defense of the Fatherland and the maintenance of the country's defenses,” the official website says.
Initially, the defendants in the case had been charged with embezzlement through swindling in the amount of 225 million rubles ($3.3 million). In the final version of the indictment, the article was changed to 1.5-billion-ruble ($22.45 million) embezzlement.
