According to the politician, violence against juveniles is mainly committed in the state of alcoholic intoxication.

Pedophiles raped juveniles while drunk, therefore it’s wrong to consider them to be maniacs, Alexander Kolesnikov, a non-partisan deputy of the Yekaterinburg City Council, said. In addition, he reproached law enforcement agencies for too zealous searches for pedophiles, Lenta.ru reports.

“The president says we must fight pedophiles – they start looking for pedophiles everywhere. Although we all know that pedophiles are not maniacs. It usually happens while drunk, all these terrible crimes,” Kolesnikov said.

The deputy complained about the politicization of the work of the police, which supposedly, instead of real work, follows general political trends. According to Kolesnikov, law enforcement agencies should pay special attention to citizens with mental disorders.

Earlier, Kolesnikov became famous for rebuking journalists, who allegedly always quote out of context and should line up to get comments from politicians. “We are not here for the journalists – they are for us,” Kolesnikov said at the time.
