Unknown attacked Krasnodar region former vice-governor's family

Details of the robbery in Adygea disclosed.

In Adygea, two criminal cases were initiated after the attack on the family of ex-vice-governor of the Krasnodar Territory Murat Akhedzhak - under part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code (Murder of mercenary motives) and part 4 of Art. 162 of the Criminal Code (Armed Robbery causing serious harm to health).

According to local media, citing sources, the sister of the former official could not get in touch with her parents in the settlement of Pseituk, Takhtamukay district of Adygea. The next day she went to them herself and found a massacre scene. "Mother was dead, lying on the floor with her hands tied. The father was on his knees; his hands were also tied behind with the plastic cord. They were bounded so tightly that gangrene appeared on one hand. The face was full of bruises. The sister who was in the house also suffered," Zhivaya Kuban says.

It is now established that four unknown persons wearing masks attacked the family of the former vice-governor. According to the scene, the family was tortured. 79-year-old Louise Akhedzhak died on the spot. 81-year-old Kazbek Akhedzhak and his 49-year-old daughter were taken to the Krasnodar hospital with serious injuries. A man is in serious state, he does not remember the events that have occurred.

The reasons for the attack are not yet known. Currently, the scene of the crime met a large group of investigators, criminologists, investigators from priority cases department. The work on the spot is supervised by head of the ICR for the Republic of Adygea Alexander Glushchenko. Head of Adygea Murat Kumpilov also arrived in the place. Condolences to the family of Akhedzhak were also expressed by Governor of the Krasnodar region Veniamin Kondratiev.

Kazbek Akhedzhak is engaged in business and actively invested money in housing construction. He was the owner of 70 apartments with a total area of 5.5 thousand square meters and cost over 230 million rubles ($3.6m).

Vice Governor of Krasnodar Territory Murat Akhedzhak died in 2010 in the hospital in Germany at the 49th year of life. He was associated with a scandal that broke up after the massacre in the village of Kushchevskaya. Since April 2002, he worked as a deputy governor, overseeing the work of the administration with the regional legislative assembly, and since August 2003 was in charge of internal policy issues.
