Ugra: two officials arrested for bribes
Employees of the Department of Economic Development became involved in the case of bribes amounting to 6 million rubles ($105.000).
Two employees of the regional Department of Economic Development were arrested in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District in the case of bribes of six million rubles, according to the official portal of the Yugra Government.
It is noted that earlier investigators had instituted several criminal cases, involving three officials of the aforementioned department. So far, the case file includes 15 criminal episodes, including those connected with obtaining bribes for the production of special licenses for the trade in illegal alcoholic products.
The press service of the Government stressed that the investigation was provided with comprehensive assistance during the investigation.
The prosecutors want the former Russian Federation Council member to go to prison for 14 years instead of 9 and pay a 500-million-ruble ($8.8 million) fine instead of 70 million rubles ($1.2 million).
