Two children burn to death near Yekaterinburg, police name possible cause of fire

In the Sverdlovsk village of Neyvo-Rudyanka, there was a fire that claimed the life of two children.

“At the time of the tragedy, the girls Anya and Sasha were at home with their mother, born in 1992. The incident occurred in their own apartment, located on the ground floor of a two-story apartment building. The head of the family, who is a fly-in/fly-out employee, was at work. The family was not registered with the police,” the press service of the MIA Main Directorate in the Sverdlovsk region reported.

According to the police, the fire could start due to improper use of heating devices.

A criminal case has been opened into the death of two children under Infliction of Death by Negligence, the regional ICR said.

According to the preliminary version, the two girls, 2 and 3, died from poisoning by combustion products. Their mother has been hospitalized.
