TV host Sheinin criticized people who joined unauthorized rally
According to the TV host, they have not to provoke the police after the release of the journalist.
The TV presenter of Channel One, Artem Sheinin, criticized the participants of the uncoordinated march in support of Meduza journalist Ivan Golunov on June 12 on his Facebook.
“Those who demanded justice for Ivan Golunov rejoice and spend time with the family (as Ivan suggested, by the way!). And others do not care about Ivan and justice - they need hype and a place to bawl for a while,” Sheinin wrote.
Journalists of Meduza, the union of journalists and some media outlets and activists, organized the march, when Golunov, charged with drug trafficking, was under house arrest. Moscow authorities authorized a rally on June 16, but on Tuesday, June 11, the charges against Golunov were dropped. The leaders of Meduza thanked everyone who supported their colleague and said that they found no reason to join the march on the Day of Russia. Nevertheless, more than a thousand people took part in the rally.
The police detained the participants of the action. According to the OVD-Info portal, about 500 people were arrested. According to official figures – about 200.
The cadets have been found guilty of an Attempt at Murder by a Group of Persons by Previous Concert and for Mercenary Reasons (part 3 of Art. 30, part 2 of Art. 105 of the Russian Criminal Code). They do not plead guilty.
