Tula region: driver who deliberately hit contestants of Paralympic Games detained

The irrational driver was deprived of his driving licence in 2013.

Driver who had no driving licence and deliberately hit contestants of the Paralympic Games of the Russian Team has been detained in the Tula region. This has been reported by the media office of the regional directorate of Russia’s MIA.

The incident took place on August 19. According to Mash Telegram channel, the driver hit 19-year-old Diana Tsyplina, 32-year-old Aleksander Legostaev, and 25-year-old Sergey Safin who had come to the meeting in a city of Aleksin. The man passed by in his car, turned round and then drove the vehicle at the professional athletes.

After the road accident, the driver tried to escape, however the plate dropped off, and law enforcers found him soon. It was found out that the man had been deprived of his driving licence in 2013.

The professional athletes got injuries of varying degrees of severity and required medical help.
