Traffic inspectors and security officers in a road fight
Lieutenant Colonel Vladimir Kuznetsov, commander of the 3rd special battalion, was removed from his job until the circumstances of the incident are clarified.
Inspectors of the Moscow Traffic Police and FSB officers had a fight in downtown Moscow after the police stopped the FSB car.
The incident occurred late on April 20 on Leninsky Prospekt. Inspectors of the 3rd Specialized Battalion of the State Road Traffic Safety Inspectorate stopped a car on the special highway of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow. The reason the FSB car was pulled over is unknown. Reports say that the police asked the driver to show his ID and even tested him for alcohol. He tested negative. According to the MK, the FSB officer did not understand why the car was stopped and began boasting his job in the special services, which the police did not appreciate. It all grew into a conflict between the law enforcers. The verbal skirmish quickly developed into a physical fight, but no one got injured. After the incident, the traffic inspectors and the security officers started calling their CEOs. Eventually, they drove away.
However, the special service officers turned out to be vindictive: they filed a complaint against the policemen. Investigators scheduled a check. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Vladimir Kuznetsov, commander of the 3rd special battalion, was removed from his job until the circumstances of the incident are clarified. He might lose his job indefinitely.
The city police detained two officers of the Russian FSB and the deputy chief of the Internal Affairs Directorate for the North-East Administrative District Department of the Interior Ministry of Russia for Moscow, who are suspected of bribe-taking.
