Tolyatti maniac committed 7 attacks

Police officers have detained a suspect in a series of attacks on women in Tolyatti, the press service of the department reports.
The maniac is charged with seven attacks, although previously only two incidents were officially confirmed, TASS informs with reference to sources in law enforcement agencies.
The alleged offender is 22-year-old Artem Semenov - he committed the first attack on November 30. The next day saw the second one.
The guy watched out for his victims in uncrowded places, stabbed them and ran away. Law enforcers began searching for a criminal throughout the Samara region and beyond. A little later, it was possible to establish the identity of the suspect due to a recording from one of the CCTV cameras - the young age was a surprise.
After a series of crimes, the young man preferred to go on the run, and he tried to reach Moscow by hitching and BlaBlaCar and he succeeded. But when on the road, one of the drivers identified the criminal and reported an unusual passenger to the police.
Artem was detained at one of the capital's railway stations. The official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Irina Volk, reported that a criminal case was initiated under part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code (Intentional Infliction of a Grave Injury).
Kupavnenskaya criminal group, known for a series of bloody crimes at the beginning of the decade, has been completely eliminated. The last of its active members who remained at large has been detained in Moscow.
