Three police officers detain investigator with drugs and end up on stand

The law enforcement officers were fired from the bodies and accused of working not in their area.

Krasnodar district police officers Yevgeny Mishnev, Alexey Sinitsyn, and Ahmed Hagur were dismissed from the Ministry of Internal Affairs after being accused of abuse of authority: the police were looking for drug traffickers in the area not assigned to them. This transpired after the detention of an ICR employee and his friend, who had white powder and a substance similar to marijuana in their possession, Kommersant reports.

According to lawyer Mikhail Mushailov, on August 31, the district police officers saw two suspicious men in the shrubs and detained them, suspecting them of planting stashes of drugs. In the detainees' car they found a gray substance similar to marijuana, and there was white powder in the pocket of one of the men.

One of the detainees turned out to be an employee of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee for the Krasnodar Region, said Mushailov. The police initiated a criminal case on drug trafficking against the second detainee, and the investigator was indicated as a witness. After that, the district police officers lost their jobs and were themselves brought to trial.
