Suspects in the assault on the Otradny AMIA Head and murder of his wife have been arrested by the Volga District Court of the Samara region. The court session on electing a preventive measure has been held behind closed doors.
As Kommersant reports, Andrey Permyakov, Vitaly Yarankin, Ernst Yatsunenko, Daniil Eltyshev, and Kristina Chistyakova have been detained for two months.
All five will be charged in the nearest future. The criminal case in relation to Murder and Attempted Murder committed by a group of persons (item (g), part 2 of Art. 105, part 3 of Art. 20, and items (a and g), part 2 of Art. 105 of the Russian Criminal Code) is investigated by the Third Investigative Directorate of the ICR in Nizhny Novgorod.
Let us recall that the tragic incident took place on the night from December 10 to 11, 2016. After returning to their house in Smyshlyaevka village, Head of the Otradny Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Dmitry Vashurkin and his wife Ekaterina were attacked by several unknown persons who brutally beat them.

Ekaterina Vashurkina had died on the spot from the injuries, and her husband was hospitalized in the morning. December 15, four suspects were detained. The investigation's main lead is that the offense was committed for the purpose of robbery.
