Student killer gets 16 years in prison after stabbing girl 107 times and taking a bloody selfie
The killer was a victim's friend who owed her money.
The court sentenced Ilya Metlitsky, who killed his friend in St. Petersburg by stabbing her 107 times, to 16 years in prison.
On May 8, 2018, the guy who owed his girlfriend Anastasia 300 thousand rubles ($4,704), came to her place and became furious after another reminder of money. He took out a knife and stabbed the girl 107 times in the face, stomach, and limbs.
The criminal did not stop there; he took a selfie against the background of a bloodied body. The picture was taken for a reason; Metlitsky sent this photo to his ex-girlfriend, promising to deal with her in the same way.
After that, he also robbed the dead woman. He took the victim’s phone and 63 thousand rubles ($987), after which he withdrew 95 thousand ($1,489) more from Anastasia’s bank card. He also contacted friends of the murdered girl and, lying that she required an emergency surgery, he took 11 thousand rubles ($172) from them.
Anastasia came to St. Petersburg in order to study to be a journalist.
