St. Petersburg court to try police officer for divulging secrets on WhatsApp

According to investigators, the officer disclosed the state secrets intentionally.

St. Petersburg court will consider a criminal case on the disclosure of state secrets against police officer Pavel Seliverstov. He faces up to four years in prison.

“The case file with classified materials has been handed over to the judge,” the press service said. According to Fontanka, the indictment was approved by the Omsk prosecutor.

In September, Omsk Online reported that a police officer was charged with divulging secret information through WhatsApp. The accused is a police officer from another region, but it was Omsk investigators who exposed him. They believe that the policeman committed the crime intentionally.
