Son of Hermitage deputy director Novikov leaving his post due to criminal case of his father
Director of the department of investments, restoration and construction of the Ministry of Culture Artem Novikov wrote the letter of resignation.
Head of department of investments, restoration and construction of the Ministry of Culture Artem Novikov asked for resignation, reports the Agency of city news Moscow with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
Department emphasized that during his work in Ministry, Novikov did not get complaints from the management.
“Such decision is made by him for ethical reasons in connection with claims to his father”, it is said in the message.
To recall, on March 29, media reported detention of Artem Novikov in the center of the capital within the Restorers case, later it became clear that Novikov Jr. was called to the Investigative Committee for questioning in the case of deputy director of Hermitage Mikhail Novikov, his father. After interrogation Artem Novikov was given the status of the witness.
As the CrimeRussia wrote earlier, Mikhail Novikov was placed under house arrest till May 23, 2017. He is suspected of commission of crime under part 4 Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Swindling committed by a group of persons on an especially large scale).
Ismail Efendiev is suspected of exceeding authority in connection with the investigation of cases of detained earlier former First Deputy Prime Minister Ramazan Aliyev and nephew of the former head of Dagestan Askhabali Abdulatipov. Searches are being conducted at Efendiev's office and house.
The disappearance of an elderly Muscovite, who owns three rooms on Ostozhenka Street, and her disabled son, worried the neighbors, but the police refused to initiate criminal proceedings on their application. Housing in the elite area of the capital in the meantime was re-registered to a resident of St. Petersburg, who introduced herself as their relative.
