Simferopol: former district court chairman found dead
According to preliminary information, the Crimean committed suicide.
Former chairman of the Central District Court of Simferopol Vitaly Mikhailov, who had retired in October, was found dead. According to preliminary information, he committed suicide, a source in the republic’s judicial system told Kryminform.
“Indeed, according to preliminary information, Vitaly Yevgenievich committed suicide,” the source said laconically.
Mikhailov presided the Central District Court since November 2011 and was reelected in September 2014.
Mikhailov’s death became the third high-profile suicide in the Russian history of Crimea. In November 2017, head of the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service for Crimea and Sevastopol Timofey Kuraev was found hung, and in August 2015, the mayor of Koktebel Rostislav Storozhik committed suicide in the same way.
