Shadow government controls Karachay-Cherkessia
Despite the semblance of calm, there has been a serious behind-the-scenes struggle in the higher echelons of power in Karachay-Cherkessia for many years. That said, its participants have no scruples about the choice of means – from banal bribery to physical elimination of competitors and disruption of the social climate in the republic.
At the end of June this year, there appeared information on searches in the building of the Karachay-Cherkessia government. Initially, the office of the Head of the Republic, Rashid Temrezov, was reported to be rummaged. Soon it was refuted. But at the same time, it became known that the searches did take place, but only in the Ministry of Finance of the republic. However, this information was also not confirmed by the official bodies of the Republic (the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the North Caucasus Federal District).
As publication Kavkaz.Realii reports, before that the Congress of the Karachay people (KKN) appealed to President Vladimir Putin with a request to remove Rashid Temrezov from his post. According to members of the Congress, Temrezov violates the national balance when appointing members of the government.
It was even assumed that the real reason for the confrontation, in which the Head of the Republic was involved, is a family scandal. However, its central participant is not Rashid Temrezov, but his brother – former Deputy Chairman of Cherkess City Court Teymuraz. He allegedly prevented his ex-wife from seeing their children, while she was going to take her son abroad for treatment in Turkey. Her father stood for the woman – a former FSB officer, currently a member of the Federal Migration Service, Kazbek Ediyev. It is him that the searches in the government are associated with.
At the same time, The CrimeRussia received information that it is people, who are closely connected with the region, who used to work there and now occupy high positions at the federal level, that are responsible for the attacks on the country's top leadership. According to our informed sources, thanks to them there has operated a shadow government with real power in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic for many years. It is due to attempts to promote one’s people to key posts that attempts of resignations, resignations, and even murders occasionally occurred (and, as we see, continue to occur).
That is, the situation can, in fact, be compared with the one in Dagestan, which was possible to be amended only with the complete cleansing of the highest levels of government by former silovik Vladimir Vasilyev, who was sent from the center.
The CrimeRussia is currently conducting its investigation to identify the principal persons involved in the conflict; we will share the results shortly.
