Severodvinsk explosion 4-16 times exceeded normal radiation level
Excessive gamma dose rates were found in six spots of the city.
Six out of eight points for measuring the radiation level in Severodvinsk showed an excess of gamma radiation by 4–16 times in the White Sea explosion, where Rosatom was testing its “new special product”. The data was reported by the Northern Administration for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring.
Saravsk nuclear center referred to the product as a "nuclear battery." The accident during the test on the offshore platform killed five Rosatom employees and injured three. The increased level of radiation in the area was observed for no more than an hour.
