Earlier, The Sunday Times newspaper reported the deterioration of the GRU ex-Colonel’s state of health.

The mother of former GRU Colonel Sergei Skripal, Elena, applied to the police with a statement trying to recognize the relatives poisoned in Salisbury as missing, Skripal's niece Viktoria told Interfax.

“On Tuesday, applications with a request to recognize Sergei Skripal and his daughter Julia as missing were sent to the police. Documents were submitted by mail to the police department of Julia’s place of residence in Moscow,” said Viktoria Skripal.

Viktoria Skripal lives in Yaroslavl with the mother of the GRU ex-Colonel. Previously, they intended to visit the UK to find out about the status of relatives, but Viktoria faced the UK visa refusal.

The father and daughter Skripals were poisoned in Salisbury in March 2018 with the Novichok nerve agent; London blamed the Russian special services. Moscow denies accusations. Russia also wants to meet with Sergei and Julia Skripals, but these demands remain unanswered. The location of Skripal remains unknown.
