Сase against Domodedovo owner Kamenshik terminated
Top managers of the airport were accused of providing services that did not meet safety requirements after the terrorist attack in 2011.
The investigation of the criminal case against the owner of Domodedovo Airport Dmitry Kamenshik and other top managers was terminated. This was reported by the investigator in the Basmanny Court of Moscow, which considered the complaint of the accused at the inaction of the investigation, reported Interfax.
Recall that on July 1, 2016 the Presidium of the Moscow City Court upheld the representation of the Deputy Prosecutor Vladimir Malinovsky, who demanded the release from house arrest the owner of Domodedovo Airport Dmitry Kamenshik. The Prosecutor's Office has repeatedly demanded the termination of the criminal case against top managers of the airport, which were charged with the provision of services did not meet safety requirements. However, the ICR, ignoring representation of the GP, continued investigation. The court investigator Sergey Dubinsky was against the release of Kamenshik.
A terrorist made a suicide bombing in the airport waiting room in January 2011. At that time there were killed 37 and injured 172 people. Lawyers for the victims claimed that the terrorist attack would not have happened if the airport management conducted a continuous inspection of all, who came into the terminal building. The same version had the Investigation Committee. Domodedovo Airport owner Dmitry Kamenshik, and the ex-Director of the airport complex Vyacheslav Nekrasov, the former Head of the Russian representation of the Airport Management Company JSC Domodedovo Airport Aviation Security Svetlana Trishina and the former Managing Director Andrey Danilov were accused on part 3 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code.
At the same time, the Prosecutor General and Dmitry Kamenshik believeв that by the time requirements for the organization of 100 per cent inspection did not exist. In addition, stay at the airport did not apply to transport services.
The compensation to victims was not paid off up to now. In May 2016 Domodedovo administrative authority has agreed to make payments to victims through a special charitable fund Aviazionny. Those, in turn, began to withdraw the lawsuits against the airport. But the payments called charitable donations.
Despite the fact that the Court dismissed defendants in the case, the ICR on 30 July 2016 extended the investigation for 3 months. Experts in this situation pointed to the opposition of the Investigative Committee and the Prosecutor General's Office, and traced in the criminal case against Kamenshik a raider seizure of the airport.
