He drove off to the side and run over a teenager who was walking in the same direction.
Details of the deadly accident involving a MIA officer in Saratov come to light. To recall, on May 17, the police officer run over a 14-year-old schoolboy to death with his KIA car. It turned out that the police officer was drunk driving. This is reported by local media Region 64 referring to its sources.
The publication clarifies that the law enforcer’s name is Mikhail; he is 39. Not far from the railway crossing in the Leninsky district of the city, he drove off to the side and run over a teenager who was walking in the same direction. After that, he rammed into two more cars. An ambulance car arrived on the scene, but doctors could not save the boy.
The regional MIA has confirmed to journalists that it was the current employee of the Ministry behind the wheel. The ICR Investigations Directorate in the Saratov region is establishing the exact circumstances of the traffic accident. The information that the police officer was drunk has not been confirmed officially.
General’s son Mikhail Sal’nikov, Professor of the Department of Theory of Government and Law at the St. Petersburg University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Russian Federation, has been detained for real estate fraud. Amid other corruption crimes hitting the headlines, this offense does not seem a high-profile one. But the point is that this is not the first criminal case instituted against professor Sal’nikov, and he is not the only relative of MIA general Viktor Sal’nikov having problems with the law.
