Ryazan: ten-year schoolboy shoots peer from rifle gun

A criminal case was initiated against the shooter's father.

In Ryazan, a ten-year-old schoolboy accidentally killed a peer when showing his father’s gun to three friends. The gun was kept in a safe but the boy had access to it, so the investigating bodies initiated a criminal case over careless keeping of arms against the minor’s father (part 1 of Article 224 CCRF), the press service of the regional ICR’s Directorate reports.

The incident occurred on May 14. After school, the boy invited friends to his place and decided to show off using the gun. According to Komsomolskaya Pravda, the school boy loaded the gun himself, there were no adults in the house, after which accidentally fired in the chest of one of his friends. The injury was fatal.
