Maria Butina is currently held in a distribution center in Oklahoma.
Russian Maria Butina recorded a video message from US prison. On an Instagram post, she thanks everyone for support and asks to send her money for lawyers. According to representatives of the convicted, she is now in the distribution center in Oklahoma.
“I also wanted to ask you for financial support. As you know, my lawyers filed an appeal and we intend to fight against the injustice that is happening to me and to all Russian citizens, because I am just a reflection of the current reality,” said Butina.
“Hold on guys. Russians don't give up!” she said at the end of the appeal.
Recall, a court in the United States on April 26 sentenced Butina to 18 months in prison on charges of working as a foreign agent. The waiting period (about nine months) was included in this term. According to the court’s decision, Maria Butina was to be transferred from Alexandria to a federal prison.
