Russian opposition leader Navalny reports he is prohibited to leave country
The Federal Bailiff Service issued the order on travel ban.
Alexey Navalny reported that his passport had been seized for “special verification measures” at the border control when he was expected to leave for Frankfurt to attend the court hearing at the European Court of Human Rights, RNS reports.
As Navalny reports, the border guards informed him that he is forbidden to leave Russia.
“There is a certain letter that forbids me from leaving, but there is no any explanation of the reasons,” Navalny said.
The oppositionist clarified that the Federal Service of Bailiffs issued the order on the travel ban. He also added that he has no unpaid fines that could be the reason for the travel ban.
By approving the pension reform, Russian lawmakers have admitted the frailty of life. For instance, 62-year-old Viktor Ozerov, Senator from the Khabarovsk Krai, has suddenly got tired and decided to retire. ‘Authoritative’ businessman Aleksander Shishkin is eager to succeed him. A former Senator and member of the Committee for Defense and Security, Shishkin is concerned about his personal safety and immunity.
