Russian Maria Lazareva released from prison in Kuwait on bail
The businesswoman was convicted of embezzling Kuwaiti port authorities funds.
Russian businesswoman Maria Lazareva, sentenced to ten years in prison in Kuwait, is released on bail of one million of Kuwaiti dinars ($3.7 million).
As Novye Izvestia reports, Lazareva visited her parents and her five-year-old son immediately after her release from prison. She is still banned from leaving Kuwait.
Recall Lazareva was convicted in the spring of 2018 for embezzlement of funds of the Kuwaiti port authority. Later, the charges were dropped, but a $65 million bail was demanded for release.
