Russian Embassy in Sri Lanka: Russian resident left hotel shortly before explosion
On April 21, eight explosions occurred in Sri Lanka.
Representatives of the Russian Federation Embassy in Sri Lanka visited all the places of emergency, police stations and morgues, 360 channel reports. There are no Russians in the lists of dead or injured. However, it is reported that one citizen of Russia was in a Colombo five-star hotel, where the pack exploded.
“There was a Russian citizen in one hotel, but he left on time. As it turned out, he was discharged from the hotel in the morning of this day and left the city,” the edition quotes the embassy officer Igor Kovalev.
He added that the number of casualties could increase with due account for the mortally wounded.
On April 21 Sri Lanka came against eight explosions. According to the latest data, 290 people died, more than 500 were injured. Among the dead, there were 35 foreigners. To date, the country's police have detained 13 suspects over organizing a series of terror attacks.
