Russian clergy income revealed: up to $15.5k a month
The Russian Orthodox Church makes regular pension and insurance contributions for confessors.
The ROC personnel receives up to a million rubles ($15.5 thousand) a month. According to statistics, their salary is several times higher than the incomes of civil servants. This information is cited by Businessman.ru.
Abbots of Moscow temples get the highest salaries – their wages vary from 100 thousand rubles to a million ($1,554 - 15.5 thousand). A common priest earns from 60 to 80 thousand rubles a month ($932 - 1,243). In the regions, the salary of the ROC servants is from 20 to 200 thousand rubles ($310 - 3,109). A beginner priest has a salary of 35 thousand rubles ($544).
According to the law “On Freedom of Conscience,” a priest cannot be an employee. However, as the journalists found out, the Russian Orthodox Church makes regular pension and insurance contributions for its confessors.
The cadets have been found guilty of an Attempt at Murder by a Group of Persons by Previous Concert and for Mercenary Reasons (part 3 of Art. 30, part 2 of Art. 105 of the Russian Criminal Code). They do not plead guilty.
