Russian actor accused of pedophilia commits suicide in jail
The star of the Glukhar (Сold case) series was detained in early October.
Actor Mikhail Fateev, who was detained in early October on suspicion of pedophilia, hanged himself in the Moscow SIZO-3 on Silikatniy passage, the 112 Telegram channel reports.
Details of the incident are still unknown. Mash Telegram channel reports that the actor was found unconscious at 4:30 pm. In recent days, he repeatedly spoke of suicide. The Fateev's cellmate stated that he was asleep when everything happened.
Earlier it was reported that the star of the television series Glukhar-3 faces a criminal case under Pedophilia (Article 134 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and Distribution of Pornography (Article 242 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). He was suspected of seducing a 14-year-old teenager whom he met in the subway.
The actor allegedly offered the student who distributed the newspapers help in finding decent work and gave a phone number. When the teenager called him, Fateev sent him some of his erotic pictures and offered to meet and "watch everything with his own eyes." The young man reported the incident to parents who wrote a statement to the police.
44-year-old Mikhail Fateev is known for his roles in the TV shows Glukhar'-3, Soldaty-2, Marsh Turetskogo, Ofitsery, Champion and Metro.
