Rogue cops in the pay of crime: police kidnap man in Moscow
Deputy Chief of a regional police department in Moscow Southern District and two Criminal Investigation policemen have been detained.
The Directorate of Internal Affairs in the Moscow Southern District arrested police officers suspected of kidnapping a man. Moscow police officially stated that the Deputy Chief of the regional police department in the Southern District and two Criminal Investigation policemen with the same department had conspired with an undisclosed criminal gang. The agency has not yet reported any details regarding the gang that had links with law enforcement bodies.
The Deputy Chief and investigators had to develop and implement a kidnapping plan. Naturally, the corrupt cops were promised a reward. Given the official position of the suspects, it was quite easy for them to trace the man’s whereabouts. Then the officers detained him illegally and handed over to the gang, there has been no information about the victim ever since.
The Deputy Police Chief and the investigators are being questioned.
The MIA Press Service stated that the policemen would be dismissed from the service, and their superiors would be scrutinized.
According to Margarita Vennberg, Ivan Rubin borrowed 40 thousand euros from businessman Vladimir Tyurenkov about a year ago. When Rubin delayed payments, Tyurenkov raised interest, and the amount of the debt increased to 70 thousand euros.
