Residents of Dagestan storm office of Gazprom’s subsidiary due to lack of heating in houses
Administrative protocols were drawn up against women who tried to break the door.
In Khasavyurt, residents of the villages of Yubileiny, Sadovy and Novy, who have been living without heating for several weeks, stormed the office of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Makhachkala. A video of the incident was published on the Internet. The police drew up administrative protocols against women, who were trying to break the door to the office, RBC reports.
On the video, the villages’ residents, mainly women, require employees of the Gazprom’s subsidiary to open the door to talk. After the refusal, several women take a wooden bench and use it as a ram.
Dozens of policemen came to disperse the protesters, Chernovik writes. It was not possible to break into the office.
The cessation of gas supplies to the villages included in Khasavyurt became public at the end of October. Then the publication Kavkazsky Uzel wrote about 500 customers and three socially significant objects that had ceased to be heated since the beginning of October. The reason for this was the poor condition of the gas pipelines, the Khasavyurt administration explained.
The Minister of Industry and Energy of Dagestan, Saygidpasha Umakhanov, gave representatives of Gazprom Gas Distribution Dagestan and the Khasavyurt Administration three weeks to troubleshoot the gas distribution system.
