Relatives of 'drunk' boy killed in car accident want to collect $172.200 from culprit
The family of the child filed a civil action against the defendant in a fatal accident.
The relatives of Alyosha Shimko, who died in an accident in the courtyard of an apartment building in Balashikha, appealed to the court with a civil suit against accused of the child's death Olga Alisova. The family demands to collect more than 10 million rubles ($172.200) from the defendant, the media reported with reference to press-secretary of the Pavel Astakhov's Bar Association Veronika Voronova.
As father of the boy Roman Shimko said, if the court satisfies the claim, the family will donate money to charity.
"A civil action demanding compensation of 61560 rubles ($1060) for funeral expenses and 10 million rubles of moral compensation was filed in court," TASS quoted Voronova as saying.
The agency notes that lawyer of the deceased boy's relatives Viktor Danilchenko urged the public and the media "to respect the memory of the deceased boy, not to dissolve rumors about him and not to make judgments about his health." According to Dalnichenko, the mother of the child suffers severe depression.
Recall that the tragedy occurred on April 23 in the courtyard of a house in Balashikha. Olga Alisova, being behind the wheel of a foreign car, exceeded the speed and at full speed knocked down six-year old Alyosha Shimko in the yard of the house. Experts found 2.27 ppm of alcohol in the boy's blood, which caused public and media outcry.
Saburova believes that the Russian authorities violated articles 2 and 5 of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, guaranteeing the right to life, as well as the right to freedom and personal inviolability.
